Moovalot has standardized on the Digi International XBee 3 Global LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular module (model XB3-C-G4-UT-001) as the IoT backbone for its entire trailer fleet. Every trailer deployed carries one of these modules, procured through DigiKey Electronics under Moovalot LLC company account #16868592.
What XBee 3 Enables
The Digi XBee 3 module is the operational core of each trailer. It powers:
- Real-time GPS tracking — location updated continuously via LTE-M cellular
- Remote lock/unlock — the app-controlled mechanism at the heart of our self-service model
- Alarm systems — unauthorized movement detection and tamper alerts
- Remote diagnostics — battery status, signal strength, and device health monitoring

As of January 2026, Moovalot has deployed 65+ Digi XBee 3 units across its active fleet, with monthly production runs coordinated through our operations team.

The Digi XBee 3 runs on a Verizon Mobile Private Network — a dedicated, isolated cellular network that keeps IoT devices separated from the public internet for security and reliability. Together, Digi hardware and Verizon connectivity form the communication layer that makes 24/7 self-service trailer rental possible.
Moovalot also works with Digi Remote Manager for device provisioning, firmware management, and remote reboot capabilities — ensuring our field team can service the fleet without a physical visit to every location.
