The Trailer Lock patent covers Moovalot's app-controlled trailer locking mechanism — the proprietary hardware and software integration that allows a customer to unlock a trailer remotely using a smartphone, without a physical key or staff interaction.
This technology is the operational core of the Moovalot self-service model. Every trailer in the fleet uses a Digi International XBee 3 LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular module that receives lock and unlock commands from the app through a dedicated Verizon Mobile Private Network. The mechanism includes tamper detection, alarm systems, and remote diagnostics — all managed from a centralized fleet dashboard.
Protecting a First-Mover Advantage
No other company operates an app-controlled, IoT-equipped, self-service trailer rental network at parking lots across retail REIT properties.
